Un-Learning and Learning
Have you ever thought that learning can be scary?
I recall two experiences in my early twenties that challenged me to un-learn and re-learn things I held to be “normal” or “right.”
Can you recall a time that you changed your mind about something important to you because you took in new information or experiences? How do you feel about that?

Learning can be a struggle. We sometimes face cognitive dissonance when confronted with things that don’t fit our experience or understanding.
Learning can also be incredibly joyful and expansive.
Today, we are kicking off a series unpacking the tension and power of L3 Catalyst Group’s Ls: Learn, Lead, & Liberate. Each week, we will hear from a brilliant human about why they value and how they define, understand, and love learning, leading, and/or liberation. They’ll share a short narrative, tell a story, or share a challenge that illustrates why Learn, Lead, or Liberate is important to them.
At L3 Catalyst Group, we believe that organizational and personal leadership requires learning. In fact, growth and transformation can’t take place without learning…and unlearning.
We envision a world of equitable outcomes, spaces of belonging, and flourishing people. We accomplish this by growing learning, cultivating brave leaders & teams, and co-creating a liberatory future.
Learning includes study, experience, and unlearning.
We are approached by leaders and teams when they seek organizational change and feel stuck. They have tried several approaches toward resolution, but there are underlying power or systems issues that are preventing them from moving forward. L3 Catalyst Group illuminates the underlying issues with you. We guide teams to learn individually and collectively about our power, privilege, and intersectional identities to create a transformational path forward.
How does it feel when you are learning? How do you prioritize it toward growth?
Fellow leaders and learners, I wish you courage, rest, and beloved community along the journey.
